Seems to be an ongoing trend, not that that is my reason for wanting one. But saw one I like, and could see getting some use out of it. Anyone own one, and if so, have you got a lot of use out of it? I am contemplating ordering one and have never owned one. I like the idea of having one to wear with a tee shirt and sneakers or sandals, so pretty much year round.

Had one many years ago, the care for it was expensive-not sure if that is still the case. I always wore it a bit more 'dressy' than you are describing.

@KittySoftPaws. Would you really wear a hot leather skirt when it's tee shirt and sandals weather? I know I'd roast. I think of leather wear as being just a cold weather thing.

I never owned a leather skirt, but 20 years ago I had two faux leather skirts, black and green, they were just below the bend of my knees.
I wore them with sweaters, a few were Christmas and two inch heels.
I received compliments every time I wore them.
The faux leather was extremely well made, never peeled or cracked, east to wipe clean.
I don't know if they make them of the quality I had.
I love leather , but can't afford it. And I could never find a petite.
You'll get the most use in Fall and Winter.
Please post when and what you decide.

@Puppy Galore Thanks for the info, and yes, I will. The one I am looking at is not petite, but would hit me just above the knee and is an A-line shape. I wouldn't want it any shorter or longer. I'm petite also.
Being in Florida, the Winters here can and do get pretty chilly, so I could definatly see getting some use out of it especially when mixed with casual pieces. It's the care and storage I am most concerned with.

I have a leather skirt that I bought at some point before I got married in the 90's. I've never done anything special to maintain it. It just hangs in the closet upstair until winter, so maybe it's a bit cooler up there, but not terribly.
I also have a mixed media Calvin Klein skirt which is a mixture of faux leather, fabric, and some other material with a nap, so maybe faux suede. I got that one a several years ago, at least 5 years.
They're both black, and I wear them with heels, but I can se that young people might wear them more casually, but I'm too cold natured to wear one with short sleeves.
I also have some suede pants, but no leather ones, and I wouldn't buy any faux leather pants I've come across. They don't look like real leather to me. It's pretty much a tell if the legs are not pieced. But, it's not just that. It's the texture just isn't the same, probably because they're stretchy. Real leather has a little give, but it's not stretch to fit.

I have/had about eight leather and suede skirts as well as six pairs of pants that I bought many many years ago at Lord & Taylor. In those days I wore them quite a bit and never had them dry cleaned, just hand washed the crotch of the pants and brushed the suede ones. Hard as it was, I donated most of them because the skirts were too short for my liking now. I haven't tried the pants on for years though I should. To me leather is a fall/winter fabric.

Had reral leather & suede skirts back in the 1970's .
Sometime , late 1990's or early 2000's , leather pants, skirts and jackets back in style . Donated my orginal ones from the 1970's & early 2000's which were real leather & suede . Bought 2 faux leather skirts , pants & jackets in the last 2 yrs . However, I see them as Fall , winter fashion. If you want the Rock & Roll look all year , then wear the faux leather all year

I had two faux suede midi skirts......They looked 'real' and were easy to wash and hang dry.
One was rust color and the other one is a dark-ish copper color, which I still have. Thanks for reminding me !

I own and wear leather skirts, pants, dresses, and jackets during the fall and winter seasons. Leather clothing is my go-to for going out, living in California.
