Laurie Felt's Cocoon Sweater

   product thumbnail

Surprised to see this style sweater on QVC!   A571579

It's quite popular in the knit/crochet community at the moment.

This one is machine knitted, but there are a couple of pattens for crochet versions that can be made solid color or vertical stripes.

I bought the pattern a couple of days ago.  I'm planning on making a multi-color stripe version. I'm still thinking about what colors to use.

Anybody on Facebook .... tons of pics of people who've made one of the crochet versions.  Very easy sweater to make.

If any of you crochet .... one version is "wrapped in tiny chains."  You can buy the pattern at Etsy, Ravelry or Amazon.

Its pretty but........I don't need another open front, no closure cardigan.

With no pockets and not even shaped like a cozy cocoon sweater.  No thanks.  Boring.

The blue option is pretty.  That color combination is great for spring.

Re: Laurie Felt's Cocoon Sweater

I can't see the cucoon feature.  I zoomed my computer to 250 %.

Anyway, I very much like this sweater, but was looking for a 'cucoon' style.

Re: Laurie Felt's Cocoon Sweater

I watched the video and still see nothing cocoon about this sweater.  Laurie Felt or Julia didn't say why it's being called cocoon.  The description also says it has balloon sleeves.  I don't see that either (and it's also not explained).  I like the navy color better.  But no pockets means -- nope, for me.

The knit is indeed chunky and beautifully done though.

It's on QVC BECAUSE it's so popular in knitting/crochet circles and sites. But to me it's just an open front sweater like the scores of other ones on Qvc. And iit's not a cocoon style.

Re: Laurie Felt's Cocoon Sweater

Personally, I don't care for the Coccoon Sweater style.  This cardigan is really cute though....in both color options.  I would prefer it had buttons or a zipper to complete the look.

Re: Laurie Felt's Cocoon Sweater

With an open front, it seems like it wouldn't be very good for cocooning.  But that's just me.

Re: Laurie Felt's Cocoon Sweater

You are all right about the "cocoon"  style.  The cocoon is shaped differently on the bottom front and back.
