Laundering whisper knits?

How are you all laundering the whisper knits? Is gentle cycle OK or do they need the "hand wash" cycle? Do the colors run? Should the black and the aubergine be laundered separately? And can they go in the dryer for 10-15 minutes and then hang to finish drying? Thanks!
