Does anyone else wonder why Lands End calls for such exclusivity, high prices and coupon exclusions?

I think Lands End quality is very good and their prices are comparable to other retailers. As for coupons, during the past few weeks I received two e-mails from them offering 60% off my order and free shipping - no minimum. They do this frequently, especially during the holiday season.

Land's End is one of those retailers that has prices that can be so different in their stores from on their website.

On their website, at any given time, they may have three different discounts codes floating around. My experience is that any code offering free shipping will have the highest prices. If you use the highest percentage discount, then you need to reach their $99 threshold to receive free shipping. It can become a game trying to find the sweet spot where you get the best price plus free shipping. I only order from them when I know I plan to buy enough for free shipping. Problem is so much of their clothing is classic basics and is durable that it takes awhile to feel the need to purchase often.

I don't think they are high priced, generally speaking. And the quality is very good. I don't always love the styles and colors, but it's a good place to go for basics.

Lands End has great sales.

I rarely ever pay full price for anything - frequently get emails (almost daily!) with sales and free shipping.

No complaints from me.

Love their stuff.

At the moment - I'm wearing shoes, tights and turtleneck tunic/shirt from LandsEnd. When I went out earlier - I was wearing my LandsEnd parka.

I love the Starfish line. Excellent quality, fit and washability. I have noticed this year their winter coats and jackets have gone up considerably. They often have good sales with at least 40% off tho, so its not awful.

I find Lands End prices very reasonable. I remember them being much higher in the past similar to LL Bean which is still expensive, IMO. And the LE discounts are great-40%/50% off and free shipping. I have only recently started ordering from them but will do so more often in the future.

Though I am mostly an LL Bean girl I also have ordered from LE many times over the years. I too get emails for all kinds of discounts and many times no minimum $$ amount to get free shipping. I like their clothing and household items such as sheets and towels.

I don't get the high prices, exclusivity comment?? Seems to me it's a great company with awesome customer service, something that's getting hard to find.

I agree with your assessment. The basics are great, but some of the styles and prints(!) are definitely not my cup of tea.
