Very interesting. Of course I had noticed when statements were made, but I didn't really relate them.  It's nature for people to use any stage they can.  We see it all the time in the news.

 

Will you look at fashion differently?  I'll be more aware!

I'm really against "statements" emanating from anyone who has a "stage".  If I watch a show - any show - it's either for my personal knowledge/entertainment and resent the influence of others bing "forced" on me.  Subtle, maybe okay; but, blatant, no way!  

 

But, on the other hand, when I was growing up I remember being told that hem lines reflected the economy:  high = good economy; low = not so good.
