If you've ever lived on the Gulf Coast (Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama) then you'd have an opportunity to attend a ball during Mardi Gras season. The last time I got that dressed up was a Mardi Gras ball I attended in 2009.

My son got married two weeks ago & both the mother of the bride & myself wore ball gowns. It was a lavish affair & we felt like princesses. When the DJ introduced us he said that he had never seen two mothers look as good as us.
It was a great pick me up during these sad Covid times.

A couple of years ago I saw some pics of a friend’s granddaughter‘s wedding in West Virginia- with the bridesmaids wearing cowboy boots.
Quirky- I didn’t know it was a trend!
Is it really a "trend"? I've seen it for many years in weddings with a certain theme or locale.
