Just a thought, QVC

[ Edited ]

I have noticed, on the other shoppping channesl, HSN, EVine, that after you spend shipping amount on the first thing and you then spend a certain amount on other purchases, that it is shipped for free. Before I cancelled my entire order here, I was spending $21shipping fees on 5 items. Thats just shipping, tax was another $15. Free shipping is better for me than easy pays.

I totally agree!  This is why I buy more on HSN, and don't buy from QVC any more.   I watch certain QVC shows for ideas, but buy elsewhere.

@wagirlI think management at QVC has known about the need to improve their shipping policies for a very long time now.  They don't need to read the boards to know they have a big problem, but until they get it solved, EZPay attracts lots of customers and doesn't cost the companies that offer it nearly anything compared to what shipping costs them.

I almost never order more than one item during any day, so for me the best change QVC has made in the last few years was to reduce the cost of shipping on some items. For a long time, I had as many as 4 and 5 heavy skincare or haircare kits on AD -  many with $6 or more shipping costs, but more recently all those kits have shipped free or at $3.    Same with clothing -  there used to be lots of $5 or 6 or 7 costs, many of which are now $3.50.   It works well for me because I very rarely make mistakes and have to return items unless they've arrived defective.

Ultimately, though, for me it comes down to product.  I don't buy all that much, but I also don't want to settle.  For more years than I liked, I settled; in my old age, one of what I want is better by far than 2 or 3 of "just okay."

I look at the individual product including what it costs to ship.  Is the item worth the price you are paying (including shipping)?

The other retail sites that offer free shipping may incorporate the shipping charge into the price of the individual product.

I don't order multiple items at one time, so the 3.50 or 5.00 charge seems reasonable to me.  However, I certainly understand when ordering multiple items how the shipping charge adds up quickly.

I agree.  Was going to buy a second tsv coat but the shipping stopped me.

Easy pays are very nice but where these shopping networks get you is in shipping fees and return shipping fees and it adds up quickly.

Frankly, it's a shame that since the  birth of online shopping began  shipping fees  are not on the burden of the buyer .  I can't say you are  always saving anything  significant in cost  shopping online , unless it's ebay or Posh mark or one of those vendors .

I'd love to see free shipping  on items  . But as  the old saying goes, "the cat's out of the bag " so  guess no online company has much incentive   to offer true free shipping all the time.   I do look for other vendors with free shipping   offers  such as Coldwater creek . I do understand that it's no gain for vendors to offer free returns  and ask for  payment to be refunded , so I don't ever expect free shipping  for permanent returns .

Yes, the shipping of items at $3-5 or so is a little better than $7-8 .

I might be the minority when it comes to free shipping. I really don't see it as a benefit because on certain items the taxes far outweigh the shipping charges. I use to look for sites that did not charge taxes but now everyone is adding the tax to the orders. I only like the free shipping because for me it's just a little reduction of the taxes!

That's what I always say.  If they want to entice me to shop more, give me free shipping.  That saves me money if I'm buying multiple items or if I am buying handbags or shoes.  EP is nice, I used it this morning but  EP does not save me money.

Not interested in easy pay at all. I would much prefer free shipping. Better yet, how about a nice discount once in awhile for established long time customers?
