Re: Just Noticed the Christmas Trees in all the Shows...

I just get tired of the Holiday push so early. I am bored with the items shown and Q has been so limited and repeated for so long. CHANGE IS NEEDED.

We decorate her around Thanksgiving..

Oh yes, every set has a tree now. I suppose it's just to get us "in the mood."

I'm not sure when they went up but I absolutely love those white trees they have everywhere. They had some last year but this year it appears they've added more.

I'm pretty sure when the hosts come back on air the day after x-mas, any and all Christmas decorations are gone. When they can no longer push items for holiday gifts, it's over for QVC.

Isn't that terrible. The day after Christmas all the decorations are gone, and the sets are bare, ready for year-end clearance. Stores are like that too. Of course, most of us are sick of Christmas at that point, since they were "celebrating" it for months. But it makes me feel like I need to take down my home decor asap too, like it's very inappropriate past New Year's.

They are in full-on Holiday shopping mode now. You can tell by the titles of the shows, and the fact they are selling those dang flashlight sets again. The colors! The matching boxes! I want to know WHO is buying all those flashlights. Aren't the ones from last year still working? (Don't answer that, I know they aren't.)

ValuSkr, I'm one that takes my tree down either the day after x-mas or 2 days after. By that time I want my house back to normal.

LOL, I'm like that some years too. As much fun as it is to Christmas-decorate, it's just as much a relief to put it all away.

QVC always does that, it's absolutely silly. I love QVC but they really do treat us like dim witted dummies. Like if we see Christmas trees in September, we'll mindlessly start our holiday shopping. And the poor show hosts, forced to wear bulky sweaters and knee high boots when it's sunny and 85 degrees outside. On the flip side, they do the same thing with summer clothes and those white jeans they make the hosts wear. In February when most of the country is in deep freeze, the hosts are wearing tank tops and white jeans and sandals and telling us the shorts they are selling won't be restocked....

It's shameless commercialism. I find it obnoxious, on QVC and everywhere else.

I don't decorate early so I don't feel the need to strip everything down on the 26th. That is still the Christmas season to me.

I don't think we are putting up a tree for the first time ever this year. We have one big party early in Dec. then it's over for us, so why bother with all that? A big wreath on the front door and fireplace and candles in all the windows will suffice. That being said, decorations in stores doesn't bother me. I pretty much ignore them until I'm ready to begin the holidays.
