Re: Joan is gone but please keep her jewelry and clothing line alive and growing

stevieb: You brought many good points. I can't imagine the fashion/accessories/makeup ever going away...would love to see someone like Dennis Basso or Bob Mackie acquire the fashion/accessory part of her line where her designs would live on.

Joan was a savvy business woman. I bet she specified what should happen to the company after her passing. Time will tell. Products for the next few shows is probably already known; I think I'd like them to proceed with those, at least.

Glad you brought this up. I was wondering if her line would continue. I certainly hope it does and I do like David too.

I have to respectfully disagree. For me, Joan WAS her line and unless they can come up with someone truly stupendous to step in, which seems very unlikely, I'm not remotely interested in seeing someone else try to come in and sell her line. More to the point, I just don't think it will work.

I totally agree. Melissa maybe, but no one else could possible step in!

Her 24 years were an amazing run and I think except for some commemorative pieces of jewelry to honor Joan that I think many of us would love to see I wouldn't want them to continue without her. She's irreplaceable.

I think Joan s loyal customers are hoping that her company continues on, were hoping that it continues to grow and to provide us with fabulous clothing, jewelry and accessories. Joan obviously had a talented group working with her and I hope they continue to do what they do best for a long, long time. Quacker Factor continues without Jeanne, Angel stepped in and I'd doing an am a,ing job. I would love to see Kathy Levine partner with the Joan Rivers Co.

Sadly, I agree. I think it was her passion that inspired the designs. {#emotions_dlg.sad} Really, I'm just very sad. I don't think anyone could take her place.

Re: Joan is gone but please keep her jewelry and clothing line alive and growing

I admit I wonder how much of “Joan” could be successfully continued. Her personality and passion for her line was very genuine and a huge part of its appeal. How much of what we buy is based on the personality behind the brand and the person presenting it?

I’ve purchased some high quality products from vendors and hosts, on QVC, I feel no connection to. Was Joan her line? I certainly tuned in for entertainment as well as knowing the fashion and quality was always there.

I think her products are of high quality and that could certainly continue. The team she worked with must have had a clear picture of her vision to design and execute her jewelry and clothing. The fit, style, fashion and quality could be carried forward.

Will it ever be the same? It cannot be the same because she is gone. We would miss her unique presentations. They were always delightful as well as informative to watch.

I recall years ago, when she had her dog, Spike, with her on set and presented often with the host Kathy Levine. It was different then…Joan was often as unleased as Spike was! Hilarious. I recall Melissa presenting her own jewelry line. I too have seen Joan’s edge soften a bit as she aged. Or maybe it was her body was aging and I noticed that slowing, but her passion remained.

I don’t know. Change and transitions are difficult. Speaking from a place of loss, I would welcome the warm feeling I would have seeing her line continue and celebrate who she was, and I can see I would feel a void if I could no longer purchase her quality merchandise.

She did embody quality, value and care in her life’s work, and always fun!

I have no idea how her family feels about continuing with QVC after her death or if that was discussed. As a huge company, one would think it was. I hope they do what is best for their needs. Selfishly, I would like more.

Each day, each season, each full moon comes to an end to allow a new cycle of regeneration to begin again.

I know one thing for certain…I will miss her.
