Oh I love it!! It checks all the boxes too. Jacket, scoop neck, fluffy skirt, bit of sparkle around the neck. Plus it's my color. Thank you @elated ! I put it on my list.
As you can tell I'm trying real hard not to look like the nutty elderly aunt, tone-deaf for appropriate fashion choices. I appreciate any help. Thank you!

I think it's beautiful and not too dark at all. I also think a white shirt, pretty earrings and you will look wonderful!

I love the skirt if it were a fall winter event I would say go for it, but I think it isn't springy enough but if you want to wear it it's OK.

This skirt screams Winter/Christmas!! Way too wintery for Memorial Day.

@AuntMame Your skirt is so pretty, It's perfect for a Winter wedding, just my opinion that it doesn't look like Spring.
For the wedding you are attending a dress would be an easier choice than a skirt outfit. Dress is one and done. A dress in a pastel Spring color, or navy blue.

I think it is a pretty skirt, but it is too winter holiday-looking for May to be honest. Enjoy the wedding!

I think that would be beautiful!!

@AuntMame I agree that it's a beautiful skirt but to me it does look more Winter/Fall.
But I also think that if you love it and feel confident in it then who cares?
Wear it. It's not like it's a huge faux pas if you do.
Really noone will care that much and others are usually too worried about how they look to care. haha

I was thinking the same thing.
I think it is such a beautiful skirt and if it was me, I would like to wear something I love and feel good in.
Plus I think a lot of the wedding rules of the past and funerals too have changed somewhat and people are wearing different things than what was considered the "proper" thing to wear.
Though I still wouldn't wear an all white dress to a wedding, a white blouse with a beautiful skirt is totally fine.
Spring clothes don't always have to be pastels and florals.
Also if the wedding is in Canada and cooler, all the more reason to wear something that fits the weather.
And that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it!
(though other opinions are just as good too!
)
Now you may be even more undecided @AuntMame!
Some help we are right?!
I say wear what you love!

@AuntMame Based on what you like about the other dress that was posted, I found this Alex Evenings dress at Dillards. It's a sleeveless dress with a jacket, sparkle at the neckline on both.
It's $240 on the Dillard's site, but Amazon sells it too and depending on your size the Amazon price could be much cheaper. Amazon also has it in wedgewood blue and royal blue in addition to the navy.
