I just purchased J296593 Joan Rivers Hearts & Flowers Pave' Brooch. David had mentioned a lot of things are limited editions ( I have a few and wear them proudly! He also mentioned how they use "Ciner"jewelry I am a jewelry obsessed woman to the point of taking courses at the GIA and now make to sell semiprecious stone and Austrian crustal jewelry.
So, I wanted to learn more about how the Ciner company worked.
I went on their site and found several of Joan's pieces with no mention of her collection.
The pin I noted above was on the Ciner site, for all to see is $415.00!!! I just bought it at $85! I just don't get it! The price discrepancy at all. But, I now want to check my other JRC pieces if they are on the Ciner site.
Pit just boggles my mind!

I went to the Ciner website. Apparently, all their jewelry is made by hand in New York City. I think Joan's pieces are made in China or somewhere else overseas where manufacturing costs are much, much lower than they are in the US. The Ciner website noted that their jewelry workers have years of experience, with some working for the company for decades. I suppose some of their design ideas filtered into the Joan Rivers line. Once I read the Ciner "about us" section, I realized why their pieces are so high.

I collect fine vintage jewelry and have a couple of beautiful, extremely well made Ciner pieces (pronounced See-ner). They are old but in great shape. Clearly the way things used to be made were meant to last a lifetime if well cared for, and these pieces certainly prove that. My pieces were definitely made in the USA.
Thanks for this thread - I didn't know that aboutr Joan's jewelry. - very interesting esp. since I've just "gotten into" Ciner more. Most of my pieces are by Coro, Kramer and Weiss.

Yes, I've heard David Dangle mention that some of the more expensive pieces of jewelry are made by Ciner as he also says that when the Joan Rivers collections are on TSC in Canada.

OP - are you saying that david claims that Ciner is making this jewelry for their line or that the Joan Rivers pieces are copies of Ciner pieces?

I'm not the OP, but I have heard David say that some of the higher end jewelry pieces are manufactured by Ciner when he's on TSC in Canada.
