I loved it! Hope we'll see more of her with Jimmy. And what a great, fresh and fun show. Leno's stale shtick went well past its expiration date.

ahh.... no way it's been 40 years!

When I saw Joan march out on Fallon's Tonight show, I thought "she had the last laugh." Show business is a "brutal" business --- mostly controlled by men. Jay Leno's time was up several years ago --- every night, the same "old" jokes. Jimmy Fallon brings energy and "real" talent to the show. He's also known as a great guy - rare in the biz.

Johnny might well have had adequate provocation to ban Joan during his tenure, but you'd like to think someone of his stature in the business at some point would've been the bigger person and let bygones be bygones. Joan was foolish. She had a great gig with Carson and foolishly tossed it away. Regardless of that situation, it was really beyond the pale for Leno to continue the ban. Personally, I never cared for him and pretty much stopped watching the show when Carson retired, though I was never a regular viewer anyway. I might check it out with the new host, though with some exceptions, the first week's guest line-up, impressive though it might have been in some ways, included several folks I really had no desire whatsoever to see.

I think Joan got exactly what she deserved from Johnny Carson, and what happened was the first attempt to show this foul-mouthed female she's not all that and a box of crackers. Sadly, she's still working every angle to get her face, and name out there.

What a SMALL man to ban Joan for all those years!
It could have had NOTHING to do with Jay-It's obvious that the hosts don't have that much power or Conan and Jay would still be on there.

oh who cares? Joan carrying a grudge and flipping the finger to Jay Leno for the cameras was pathetic. Stay classy Joan!

Carson was a jerk. It's called business. Men do it all the time, yet when a woman dares to do it they are pariahs. I don't think she would have walked away from a sure thing. Look at Letterman, he was supposed to be the successor too and that never happened. Things had to be iffy for her to step away and try to get something going for herself. She didn't stab him in the back, she just made a business decision. If it was a guy that did it Carson probably would have just played golf with him and forgot the whole thing. What Leno's beef with her was I have no idea. Especially after Carson passed away; what was he going to do, come back from the dead and black ball Leno for letting her on? I think Carson needed a reality check; he was a talk show host nothing more.
