She looks cute & comfortable. The sneakers are ok.
For me personally, I wouldn't wear the dress or sneakers.
I prefer knee length dresses with ballet flats, espadrilles, or wedge sandals this time of year.

I'm too old to like this look. In NYC, dress or suit with sneakers was the way to go to work but as soon as women entered the office, on came the heels. These days there are plenty of comfortable shoes that would go with that dress. I'm sure JG could afford them.

I like Jennifer Garner, period. Women have worn sneakers with their dresses for years. If you lived in a larger metropolitan area and had to "commute" you'd understand why. Dress looks good on her.

As long as she is comfortable why not. I may not like the look for myself but Jennifer wears it well!

It could be out of necessity in this instance. We don't know what she's got to do on this day do we? She does have children. She may have shoes in her bag or in the trunk.

I don't think it's a just question of wearing them because they're comfortable -- wearing sneakers with a dress is a fashion choice, not necessarily done out of necessity like in the old days of commuting.

@Danielle46 wrote:Like the dress, like the sneakers but not together. I think a different sneaker would look much better. The sneakers she is wearing are too thick, clunky for that dress. A low profile, less athletic looking sneaker would look a lot better.
I agree. I'm a lover of sneakers worn with dresses, but I just don't like this particular combination. I have some more "sporty" dresses that look great with more athletic style sneakers, I have some that look better with more "preppy" looking sneakers, etc. (But I never wear my actual athletic shoes with dresses.)

@jonbonwhen I do it, it's out of necessity. I don't keep up with trends. I'm only speaking for myself. So yeah....

Which is fine, but it is a trend these days. Many of us choose to wear sneakers with dresses because we like the look, not because we can't afford another comfortable pair of shoes to wear (as the poster to whom I originally responded stated wrt JG).

same......it would have been a cuter look with sandals or even an espadrille.
