As I've been viewing LDO's design anthology on his website, I've been surprised at how many pieces he had reinterpreted from Anne Klein for QVC. Many of his AK designs are exquisite classics, tried & true. But, I would've also liked to have seen more new & current innovative designs from him for QVC.
I like some of Jason Wu's designs also.
I don't see it as an "either or" about liking a designer's work. I can appreciate different authors, different musicians, different home decor styles, etc. because they're from different genres and each has merit.

@NYCLatinaMe wrote:@teachergal the correct name is Jason Wu. You are right, he is no Louis Dell'Olio. Mr. Wu has a number of lines outside of QVC, to meet the needs of different customers. Louis Dell'Olio has worked exclusively for QVC since 2000.
Mr. Wu's fashions range from evening gowns to sweats, while Louis Dell'Olio's fashions were tailored, even at their most casual.
I would not judge the body of work of any fashion designer based on one blouse.
Different designers, different feelings.
QVC should have had room for both.
Was he an in house brand @NYCLatinaMe ?
Based on what he said, Louis was not a QVC brand. But he did not have a line anywhere else since 2000.

Over the years, QVC has brought in many "named" designers. Sadly few have lasted more than a few seasons. Personally I loved Victor Costa, David Dart, Joan Vass and a number of the Project Runway designers. Their pieces were usually a good deal more $$$ than QVC in house brands.
The only 2 designers I can remember who eventually designed exclusively for QVC Susan Graver and LDO. QVC is trying to appeal to a younger audience. Bottom line is dollars and cents. If LDO was bringing in the big bucks he'd still be here. The tragic death of wife was a blow. After that, he seemed to have lost a step or two. His heart just wasn't in his presentations the way it once was.

@Greeneyedlady21 Agree with you greeneyelady. Narisco Rodriuez is one of the young upcoming designers. He designed Michelle Obama's dress for the first inauguration She wore his clothes throughout her whitehouse years.

@Greeneyedlady21 OOPS...my bad...it was Jason Wu who did design Michelle Obama's dress for the inaugural:

The dress was beautiful on Michelle and not a bit fuddy duddy. This is how Jason Wu became famous.

Comparing the two is like comparing apples and oranges.
Different people - different backgrounds - generations apart in age - different visions.

Thank goodness every designer has his or her own look and style. Jason Wu is not Lous Del Olio is not Dennis Basso is not Issac Mizrahi is not any of the myriad designers who create their vision of fashion. Good that there is something for everyone. Different strokes for different folks.

Jason and Louis are both great designers in their own way. I like both. I like Michelle in the red not a fan of the white. People spell my last name wrong all the time. No evil intentions just a mistake.
