I hope you never make a mistake.

I will always feel free to correct someone who is simply being rude. If you're going to be rude, at least get your facts straight.

She does mention at the beginning of Shoe Shopping with Jane that her grandfather was an Italian shoemaker. Smile I think she's really become the "face" of the Irish programming due to her enthusiasm, knowledge of the products, family background (married and her own), and the relationships she has formed with some of the Irish vendors by working with them for many years. (She's also a senior-level host.) Yes, she sometimes slips into a bit of an Irish accent, but it's done in fun when she's talking with one of the "guests" -- she doesn't try to imply that she actually has an accent. In the end, she's just a very good fit for the programs and has earned her featured status over the years.

Jane, like all of us would biologically have two grandfathers and four great grandfathers. Like some of us Jane's family tree has more than one nationality on the limbs. I've met very few people in this old life who have only one nationality, or religion, or ethnicity on their family tree.

My best friend is 100% pure Irish Catholic. Not a speck of black Irish (Spanish) blood in his tree. His wife is Italian/Scicilian Roman Catholic. That makes the kids 50-50 just like Jane. Not so unusual when people emigrated and lived in tight ethnic communities. When high school is the highest education and everyone goes to parochial school, it pretty much stays that way.

Right. My post was in response to the person who said that "she only talks about her Irish heritage."
