Hi 4OU2:

In terms of golf (where the term originated), it's the second half of an 18 hole golf course. While "the back nine" could definitely reference aging, it doesn't always and only mean you're getting older, it can also mean that you've passed the mid point or nearing the end of something. Hubby retired two weeks ago but for the past year or so whenever anyone would ask when he would be retiring he would often say "I'm on the back nine".

I use the term often when I'm coming to the end of a project or book - I'm on the back nine.

Have never liked to watch Jayne. I miss Shawn but she's taking a few days off. She should be back for their next show
