I  TOTALLY AGREE THE CLOTHES ARE FAR TO SMALL FOR HER.

@bewise

It's too small,  not to small.

All of the models are lovely ladies. I always look to see how the garment looks on a variety of sizes, and if it makes the larger models look bigger or highlights rolls, it's a "no" for me. It's actually a good reality check for how the garment fits someone who is not 5'10" tall and a size 2.

Actually, Jackie is short for a model at 5'8" or 5'9". You can tell she has shorter arms as most jackets hit her below the wrist. Even some of the regular inseam pants are too long for her.   I can tell if something fits Katia, it will fit me as far as height goes. Now she is a size 2 and I am an 8, but I am 5'11.

Jackie, in my opinion is stunning if they style her right. And I agree with the OP, they usually do not.  Because she is curvy, pants should fit her higher in the waist. The shirts they style her in are just too small.  I think they would compliment her and the clothing if she were styled according to herody form to bring out her curves...not make her looked like she's stuffed into the clothing.

@bmorechick

I guess we all see things differently.  I would not describe Jackie as curvy--at all.  She clearly does not have a defined waist and I believe that is part of the fit problems.

There once was a model who always worked for Isaac Mizrahi.  She was a redhead with beautiful peaches and cream skin.  I believe her name was Rebecca.  While larger than Jackie, she truly was curvy and didn't seem to have the same fit issues.

Curvy does not necessarily refer to actual curves, but one who is plus size.

I find that to be a misnomer.  I am not a plus size, but I would describe myself as curvy because I have an hourglass shape.

Yes, I have always associated the term curvy when descriibing a woman's shape as that of an hourglass, no matter what size they are.

That's what "curvy" used to mean.  Now it is being used as a kinder, more PC term for heavy/large.

So what do we call the old fashioned curvy now?

I don't know (and, frankly, don't care).  It's not relevant to my fashion vocabulary.  No snark intended towards you, Kitty. :-)

Okay.

Well, I don't know what to do now.

One of the funniest misnomers I first heard on the Q was "athletic" calves for wide or heavy calves.   I'm very athletic and have slim calves.  Call them what they are -- slim or wide calves, lol.  Silly to sugar coat it, IMO.

Jacque is always a size 'Large' .... so if the garment appears as a sausage casing on her (which is not her fault) ... then I know to size up.

Please .... don't change a thing with her modeling~!   She has saved me from many returns, seriously.

But many people with athletic calves have visible muscular development.

That's what I think when I hear athletic calves.  Not just big.

Not that this matters or is relevant to your fashion vocabulary.
