Just ordered 5 men's shirts that I'll donate to one of our local churches.  Free shipping, total cost $60.00.  They have already shipped and although it doesn't matter when I receive them, may be here before Christmas.

Plus I do it through United airlines and receive miles for my purchase.  Very happy that all retailers now have websites.

Good service - also thoughtful on your part.

From what another person posted today, many charities are sending donations to landfills because they have too much.  Maybe you need to go down to skid row and hand them out.  It's very disheartening that nobody can use them.

I just donated 4 new pillows from Beall's - they got two excellent reviews, sale price after coupons etc...was around $5 each.  They were awful.

Our local battered women's shelter has a furniture store and a few clothing stores that accept donations.  Most of the items in the stores is in pristine condition....the shoes I've seen look completely unworn. And the women in the shelter get first dibs on items.

They have indicated on their website that clothing that is not in usable condition is sold to another company that shreds it etc and makes it into other things.
