I just cut out a label from some Carole Hochman super soft fleece pjs that had the stiffest, itchiest label in them. Why why why do the clothing manufacturers feel the need to torture some of us with these awful labels? I always feel like I'm destroying the garment!

Anyone else do this?

@Jacie my biggest pet peeve about clothing.  They should put all labels on the bottom inside seam.  I have ruined more garments trying to carefully remove labels.  And even though you cut them, there are still the little pieces left that are sewn on and it's so difficult to remove the stitching.

There's a jean I love and can't wear to often because of the label (which is sewn in) It doesn't itch. It scratches!  I can't cut it out for fear of ruining it.  It's a premium jean (MOTHER) so it's kind of expensive.  The label is actually leather.  It looks nice, but I have to wear something underneath to cushion it.  It sratches my spine just below the waist.  I have other jeans from them and none of them are as uncomfortable.

@songbird I wonder how much putting that kind of label in actually increased the cost of the jeans.

I know what you mean!  Remember the pink hair tape?  I always use that to tape over those awful labels.  It's soft and works.  I found that tape on Amazon.  It's kind of pricey, but lasts a long time.  Hope this helps Smiley Happy

@Patriot3

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll look for it. I checked for a "hack" on-line and the only thing that came up was to use that iron on stitch wizard melting tape to hold the tags down....sounded like a pain since my iron is rarely plugged in! HA!

A lot of premium jeans have them.  Some like Rag & Bone are on the outside waistband.  It just a bar with the name imbossed in soft leather.  For some reason not this one.  The primary reason for the cost is being made in the U.S. They are ususally better made then the cheaper ones which means they fit better and most offer the Japanese denim. The average price is about $180.00-$275.00.  Levi jeans are now made in 3rd world countries & cost below $60.00.  Only one jean is made in the U.S. and it costs about $180.00.

Those laser tags are the worse!    I wish Skinny Tees would print their tags on .... anything close to the body needs to be comfortable.

@Jacie

Sometimes the problem is the fact that they laser cut the labels.  This makes the edges very sharp or " scratchy ".

If this is the case, just trim the pointy edges.  The other posters who have mentioned tape, that may fix the issue of not laying flat.  For me, I would just cut close to the upper stitching and remove most of the hanging tag.  ( My iron is being " preserved " for posterity, LOL )
