BTW, regarding Shawn and the "shameful" comments- I believe I saw one of those segments, and that is NOT how she said it. She said some people FEEL ashamed when they have hair loss. She did not say it was shameful.

Thank you for clarifying this. I see how women are either so uneducated that they don't understand remarks, or deliberately twist them so they can complain.

It doesn't sound like you really wanted to purchase whatever it was anyway if Isaac's comment made you cancel your order. You're only disappointing yourself. People will still order and Isaac as well as Shawn and other hosts will still continue to make their comments that "offend" certain people. {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

Is there anything anyone can say these days WITHOUT someone being offended?? Gee Whiz! I will never understand the way some people think. Life is too short to sweat the small stuff. Shake it off. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

P.S., I found nothing at all wrong with what Isaac said or Shawn either for that matter. Be more concerned with things that truly matter is my philosophy. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}

People need to focus and really listen with their ears and not what's in their head.

This thread from almost a month ago was tucked into bed and put to.sleep.which is where it belonged. Why is it raising it's head (or maybe I should say it's giraffe neck) again?

You seem to be looking for problems like so many on these boards. I'm 5'3" and really would love to be tall enough to be called a giraffe.

You are the one that dug this thread out of mothballs, what are you looking for if not more problems like you say misschristy.

I wouldn't mind being (nicely) called a giraffe or a gazelle.........I'm only 5'5", and often admire tall women/friends/relatives. Smile

Well, the o/p has only three posts since signing up two years ago, so I would take what the poster said with a huge grain of salt.

Re: Issac calling the model a giraffe - really !!

You really cancelled your order because Isaac Mizrahi referred to a tall, slender model as a "giraffe"? Easily offended, aren't we? I'd imagine he meant it as a compliment. Giraffes are tall, graceful, and beautiful, as is the ideal for fashion models. See? It's sort of like the way energetic people might be referred to as "energizer bunnies", or warm, affectionate people as "cuddle-bugs", or fast runners as "greyhounds". Animal metaphors. No harm, no foul.

Oh, how this world needs grace and a sense of humor!

Re: Issac calling the model a giraffe - really !!

I did not see the show the OP speaks of, but I would like to offer some comments and observations about what adjectives people use to describe heights.

I am on the tall side being almost 5'8". My high school years were when I had huge growth spurts and I towered over my classmates, and, I was very thin. I got teased by them and was called many things, including a giraffe. Trust me that being called a giraffe was not meant in a "nice" way. (If one wants to call out someone who is tall because they mean to compliment them, there are better ways to do so.) I was self-conscious because of this, not to mention at social events when the "boys" would rarely ask me out or to dance because I was taller.

I feel that at times there is a double standard:

- using mammal, amphibian, reptile etc descriptive words for tall people is O.K. Doing this to short or petite people is a big no-no;

- being critical of thin people is O.K. Being critical of larger or plus size people is not.........

Re: Issac calling the model a giraffe - really !!

The models love working with Isaac because he is not temperamental and never nasty or sarcastic; I worked with him many years ago and he hasn't changed. He is generous and kind and Isaac loves animals. It was meant in kind and flattering way in that Linda, I think it was, was graceful elegant and tall. That was said a while ago and the model is still working with him. If that made the OP cancel her order, she didn't want the item. Silly post
