he might be the designer, but i've been watching him tonight and he doesn't know any of the colors' names!  he hasn't gotten one right....except for black and white!

I think QVC assigns a 'color name' when they enter them as new items in the inventory.

Designers sometimes seem a bit miffed at some of the inaccurate color names the hosts read off their cards.

Excel owns and designs for QVC Judith Ripka,  QVC Issac and, I believe Halston and C Wonder....they show up to sell.

I do not think he designs these clothes or the IMNY label.  These are off-the-rack that I could design.  He designs a couture line.  He is not bothered with petty stuff that QVC sells.  His name is attached to it for a profit.

@x Hedge@nana59

That's because he is not the designer....he is showing up to sell.  Designed by Excel.

@x Hedge  I agree. I heard Pat explain a while back that the Q gets a small sample of a piece of fabric for an item and gives it a color name.  So Isaac, Susan, and others don’t know what the colors have been named.

I don't think SG personally designs all of her clothes either.  They all have a "team" of people who I would assume work under some general guidelines.  I think it would be impossible for either of them to design every article of clothing.

I have heard her say quite a few times she has a great team she works with.........

So many times I've heard the host, while showing the colors a garment comes in, say,'slate blue? I'd call that gray-folks, this is gray.' It's because when the clothes come in (wherever they come from!) QVC immediately changes the color name to what they prefer. They are rarely on target.

I'm not sure if he designs for QVC. I do know, though, that he has a whole other collection of clothing that is very different than what he brings here.
