Re: Isaac Mizrahi talks about clothing for"" plus size"" women

Well, Isaac Mizrahi is talking about the QVC line of clothing not his department store line Pink Label because the Pink Label line only goes up to a missy 16 and the sizing is cut small. A size 16 trench coat in his Pink Label line has a garment bust measurement of 43 inches while a trench coat size large in his QVC Live line has a garment bust measurement of 47 inches. Interestingly enough the models that wear the small size clothes for the Pink Label clothes on The Shopping Channel in Canada are wearing sample size 2 clothes and those size 2 models are not the regular size small models who wear a size 4-6. I don't think that the regular models could even zip up those size 2 samples. The plus size model that The Shopping Channel uses for the Isaac Mizrahi Pink Label clothes is a size 12-14 and she's top heavy as well and she cannot close any of the jackets she's in either. From reviews on their site people are complaining that the clothes didn't fit, they were too small and they had to return them for a bigger size. I don't know why TSC doesn't sell the Isaac Mizrahi Live! clothes that are available on QVC instead of the Pink Label clothes because they do sell the Isaac Mizrahi Live! handbags, shoes, and watches.

I believe QVC has a pretty big expensive contract with Isaac for the Live! line. I'm sure Canada would love to get their hands on this. I'm surprised about the bags and watches.

I think it's silly for a plus size to expect to look like the size 2 model in a garment.

Oh give me a break ............ do you really think they expect that??? You are delusional!

If we actually knew what every designer said about us, we'd be hiding naked in our walk-in closets! Common sense and our own mirrors work really well.

Whether you wear a size 2 or a 22 a full length mirror and a critical eye are your best friends.

I think women for the most part know what's flattering on them. Men...on the other hand... I'd like to see a Susan Graver of men's clothing on QVC. Have all the colors match and have everything in plus sizes and tall and short.

Then you could bribe your husband to pop his head in every now and then and thumbs up or thumbs down the various purchases you want to make for him. It'd be even more convenient for him than having to go to the store.

LOL, I love it. When I was working in the city I'd pop into Brooks Brothers (my DH's fave store) and buy him a blazer or sport coat, or, drag him in and have him fitted for a suit. When I retired, it finally dawned on me that I was the one keeping him looking "spiffy." I have to DRAG him to Macy's men's store and FORCE him to even look at clothing. He is content to not ever buy anything. Clothes wear out. I didn't know that since it never happened to me, but clothes do, indeed, wear out. It would be great to see men's fashions on the Q and though it is too late for us, I would bet a lot of you gals would love to be able order men's fashions too. I wonder if the Q is seriously thinking about this. It might be worth a try. Look how popular the NFL store thingy is.

many years ago,QVC did carry a men's clothing line that was carried under the Regis Philbin name. Regis would come on as the "front" man.

You are a petite, and "you wouldn't want a small floral print" ???? Why in heaven's name not ?

Do you think they are only for larger people?

Good grief! Maybe it's a matter of personal taste. I don't wear prints, stripes, or florals, never have?

Explain to me then why anyone who is a plus size, would buy something that is only being modeled on a size 2!

When the models come out it looks cute on the xxs, but then the the 1x comes out and and it doesn't look even half as good. Delusional is thinking it will when it arrives!

Marc Bower...Is he the guy who wears "skinny jeans"??

yes- and he was also on America's Top Model and told one of the contestants that she was too large for his line... she had 35" hips... and was bone skinny. I never liked him after that comment.

I remember that episode. She also had 38" hips, not 35. She was thin, but she was pear shaped too. Model bodies should be proportionate. Hips and breast same measurement. He was only reflecting what the industry says. Not wider then 34" She didn't last long in the competition either.
