Was just looking at Bob Mackie fashion, and it seems there is not  as much there, as there used to be.  Anyone hear anything??

Re: Is Bob Mackie Leaving??

Nobody will have definite information since the Q never announces such things, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's gone when his contract expires.  He's probably about ready retire anyway.

@ALRATIBA.  They had a show maybe last Thursday night at this time.  Every item, even newer stuff, was on clearance.  I bought 3 things.

@Kachina624

I just took a look at the line up last week - seems to have been mostly clearance shows.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I used to buy a lot more of his clothes - back when he had real suede and leather and silk blouses and jackets.  Still wearing a lot of them!

The last time I watched a full length show, he was joking around about retiring. The host joked back, "oh no". Bob said he was old, almost 80! Well, he's that now. I'm sure he's tired!

I just checked -- he is 80 (born in 1940).  Nice man, but perhaps ready to retire.

I figure one day there just won't be any of his clothes left, without ever actually announcing he left.  It seems the Q prefers this--unless the vendor themselves announce it on their own.

Which is why on the last free shipping day I stocked up on my favorite of his pedal pushers.  I want to have a good supply before they run out of my size.

I used to love his clothes when they were made of silk, cotton and real leather or suede. I still have a couple of his silk blouses and those silk pants he used to sell. He cheapened his line years ago and everything now is polyester. His newer designs aren't very attractive either. It wouldn't surprise me if the Q is phasing him out, along with Louis and Quacker Factory.

I think since QVC is getting rid of Louis, Bob Mackie will be next.  Sorry to see them both go, if that is the case.  I have bought clothes from them over the years and always liked what I got.
