Re: Interesting, s&h down, but prices up...

Even with the $3.00 shipping, most of the tops on QVC come to close to $50. Some don't look worth that price.

I knew this was going to happen. Also don't forget about not getting a refund for the original shipping. Now your out even more money.

It has always been, and will always be a matter of comparing bottom line cost to bottom line cost. Unless you live in a state that doesn't charge sales tax on s&h it makes no difference what the cost breakout is. This is why some of us never jumped on the "offended by high s&h costs" bandwagon.

I have said it before. Its a phsycological thing. People complain but if the price was higher and free shipping all of a sudden its a deal.

Shipping has never mattered to. Me. I look at the total cost then i ask myself if its a deal. If a cosmetic tsv is a eighty dollar value and your getting it for fourty what makes a difference if the shipping is ten dollars.

Any company that offers free shipping builds the cost into the product. Nothing is ever free. I always compare bottom line prices.

That is precisely what I thought would happen when they reduced the shipping. I figured they would "hide" the rest of the shipping by raising the item price. Very predictable QVC! {#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}

ETA that I thought I would go over to my wish list to test this theory. I was just on there the other day thinning it out, so I know the higher prices are recent.

Here is how I use the wish list (and why I have proof of a new higher price). When I put something in my wish list, in the comments section I enter the date, the purchase price and the S&H. Now looking through, the current price (in big red font) in most cases is higher and in some cases way higher. Proof is in the pudding!

That's a good idea about the comments section.

Thanks! I started doing that a long time ago so I would know what the prices were (including S&H) when I put them on the wish list. Then I could compare them to the current price if I decided to purchase. Over time, S&H has gone up a lot, but I guess everything has everywhere.

I've noticed the increases on prices as well. And way more then the difference in the cost of the shipping. I saw one jewelry piece go from $147 (where it has been all along) to $136 on designer jewelry day, to $159 yesterday. I will wait to see if it goes on clearance at some point but then it will probably just go back to the original $147 price!! I really hope this comes back to bite QVC in the butt.

Sorry, but not offering half price off S & H on multiples of same item is just a big turnoff. I can see my shopping on Q getting less and less. You are not fooling anyone Q.

My shopping at the Q is getting less and less. I liked D & Co. for weekends and at home and sent the last three things I ordered back. The quality and sizing were terrible. Never had that problem in the past and a friend of mine had the same issues.
