Thank you, that's a very interesting article and helps explain the over 500,000 in sales when they had that windshield cover on as a TSV (and also as many sales with another TSV) as well as the NFL style~! Aside from the product choices they have (another topic).... having the kind of state of the art information and APP has been very successful. I've had a Q app for quite some time, also an iPhone with the touch ID which does make ordering simple and fast.
I sell on eBay and know from the statistics that they provide to me, that just about half my sales are from the eBay app.... with that knowledge, I can tailor my sales accordingly. It's very useful info.....
Now.... if Q can just step up the quality on some of their products....

Very interesting. I knew some of what's there, but really had no idea about some of the rest of that article.
Contrary to Hertz, everyone doesn't have to be #1 to be successful.

Thank you so much for letting us know about this article. What I found very interesting how everyone always says that the host are watching them selves in the monitors well as I have said before they are watching the monitors to see how much the phone lines are lighting up with people ordering.

This isn't a new article and there was a thread I think in Q Talk that discussed the WP article about QVC.
So far I'm thinking Zulily is the dumping ground for QVC's G.I.L.I. clearance fashions and bags without QVC having to lower their own prices on QVC.com. That is what I expect to see on QVC's acquisition of Zulily, that's their version of corporate synergy.
Oh and just to let the QVC's worldwide customers know, the U.S. QVC ipad app is geo-blocked, it's only available on the U.S. app store. Same thing with the HSN app too.

@ellaphant Thanks for posting that. I get the Post on my IPAD but don't always read it.
One thing they didn't mention is how infuriating it is when the blab on and on and don't put up the size measurements. That's as or more important than the colors. Sometimes I call QVC and ask them to put them up (and guess what, they do put them on the screen) "real time". My guess is others are calling in with the same request.
They also need to give the stretch (remember when they used to give that) and talk more about the material. With so many new materials around now, some aren't familiar with these new materials, (ie how lay on the body, how they are going to hang (pants), etc).
I used to make my clothes when I worked so that's important to me. An all cotton shirt is not going to stretch so one must allow for that or the buttons would pull at the bust, things like that.
Again, I enjoyed reading the article and thanks for taking the time to let us know about it. I guess I'm just one of the old Baby Boomers (69 in a few days).
My two Millennial daughters with children order on line (I've already been emailed their children's Christmas list along with the website to just click over and order). I'd be upset but physically I am not able to get out to the store to buy it, so it works.
I used to love going out amongst the people at Christmas, the decorations, everyone seemed happier, it was nice.
Just one more sign new is not always good.

@TY I don't know about GILI being dumped there because many younger people like to shop at Zuiliy and they don't have the money to spend on those GILI articles. They are very over priced.
Also the GILI articles look more like what an older person (say mid to late 30's and 40's might wear). According to what I read Zuiliy shoppers want a bargain but don't want to spend the prices GILI want for their junk/stuff.

Yup, the Zulily prices for the G.I.L.I. stuff was a lot cheaper than what QVC sells the same stuff at. I think that the customers on Zulily, if they are smart, will look at the product sizing and reviews on QVC first before they buy off of Zulily because you can't return the items on Zulily.

this is what I found most interesting about the entire article:
George sees many similarities between the QVC customer and the Zulily customer, including that each is largely female and tends to view shopping as a form of entertainment.
I've said all along that all the junk QVC sells on a day to day basis is impulse buying at best. No one turns to QVC because they are looking to buy a set of 2 can openers. They watch ITKWD for entertainment and buy what he's selling on a whim.
