All this knocking of polyester makes me wonder how much it is really disliked.  Personally I like the easy care.  I hate the major ironing that is needed with 100% cotton woven.  As far as cotton knits go, I have a bunch of Liz Claiborne Essentials in 100% cotton that have shrunk down in length.  There is only one left that hasn't accidentally been put in the dryer. So your choices are

1. 100% polyester

2.  Poly cotton blend

3.  100% cotton

I will add these up tomorrow.

I prefer a poly cotton blend or 100% pima cotton.

Polyester is truly a miracle fiber.  It holds color, is easy care and can be made to mimic any other fiber from wool to the finest silk.  I especially like cotton/poly blends for their easy care and good looks as they comes out of the dryer.  I won't buy any 100% cotton woven fabrics as they all require ironing, and I'm picky about cotton knits.  I do like the Pima cotton.

100% cotton - casual blouses, tops, skirts 

OR a silk & cotton blend (50% each) - casual blouses, tops, dresses, summer dresses

100% pima cotton for tee's

Definitely a blend of cotton/poly.  Don't like 100% cotton or rayon/span and some 100% poly.  Probably my favorie is a cotton/modal/span combo.
