Incorrect Measuring on Inseams

I bought two pair of Liz Claiborne jeans and the description on the inseam stated 28". I did not bother to measure the inseam because I thought it was correct. I took my pants to be altered and told them I wanted them to be 26 1/2 inseam. They called me back and said the inseam was that measurement. I did not believe them and picked up my pants. When I got home I found that to be correct. Boy did I feel dumb that I did not check. I called back and apologized to the cleaners. I know now to check the inseam.

Well, on the bright side, it saved you the time and money getting them hemmed. ☺

You didn't try on? Confused, Why would you not try before bringing for alteration?

Re: Incorrect Measuring on Inseams

I always try new things on before deciding about alterations. I have bought the identical pants and walk shorts in different colors, yet when I took them to my tailor for alteration, each pair had to be altered a different measurement for proper fit in the waist.
