Re: ISAAC'S PIMA COTTON TEES

The Isaac pima T's I looked at online here say 80% pima cotton but 100% cotton in the description.

Idk if they've always been 80% pima because I buy mine from LL Bean and Lands End.

Re: ISAAC'S PIMA COTTON TEES

Pima cotton has been a favorite fabric of mine for a while.  I have to admit to owning about 30 of the tees from the Isaac Mizrahi line.  I think I have come to the sad conclusion to stop buying his pima cotton though.  For me, the reason is the shirts cannot be laundered well after getting a stain on the pima cotton, no matter how small the stain or what it is from.  It's very sad to discard a shirt in good condition, but the stain ruins it.  So, I have started purchasing other cotton combinations and also pima cotton tops from Lamd's End and LL BEAN.

Re: ISAAC'S PIMA COTTON TEES

@Shanus yes I have noticed the difference and I don't like it! It's the same with some of the t-shirt dresses this year. The fabric is very different and certainly isn't the same as what was sold as 100% pima cotton in prior years.

I sent quite a few shirts and a couple of dresses back because they weren't as advertised. I stopped buying them as well.

Not sure what the deal is but QVC and IM need to add a bit of truth to their presentations.

Re: ISAAC'S PIMA COTTON TEES

The price of all cotton has recently shot up again.  I imagine Pima has gone sky-high.  So they had to cheapen the product to maintain the price point or stay near it.

I think Lands' End makes some very nice tops made of 100% supima cotton and the prices are very reasonable.

@Mindy D

Thanks for that.  Here's the problem:  I wear the tee shirt all day. I am wearing it in the evening when I am cooking dinner.  Next day, laundry time, I throw the tee shirt in with a load of perma press.  I dry the load in my excellent Speed Queen dryer.  Out comes the Isaac Mizrahi tee with stain marks.  Honestly, this has happened several times.  To be candid, I have not kept track of what kind of stain I may have on the shirt. I will try harder to do that.

Re: ISAAC'S PIMA COTTON TEES

I have noticed a huge change in quality of Isaac's pima items. Such a shame as I really thought his Pima cotton was the best. Now, the IM items I purchased became rubbish after they were washed. Misshapen and shrunk up rubbish. Sigh.

I recently received A456388, a mock neck Isaac Pima tee which is substantial and of good quality @$39.98.  However, others I've bought have been thin, cheesy and way too clingy.  I don't like to show off the seams in my bras.  His line, like others, appears to have been greatly cheapened.

This item is only 80% pima cotton (20% cotton) as are most of his pima cotton items now. I look at the material very closely because I noticed it's all a pima cotton blend with other cotton or modal and spandex. The Kim Gravel pima tops are all a pima blend as well.

I just purchased 100% supima cotton tops from LL Bean, and they are soft, rich, and substantial. They are comparable in price to Isaac's tops but you get 100% supima cotton. I think QVC counts on buyers not looking too closely at the details and assuming they're getting 100% when they are not.

@SilleeMee   I have IM and LE. I've always loved the Isaac tees, but not anymore.
