I have tried online shopping but end up returning the item. I also think it's cheaper in stores because you don't have shipping costs on top of tax and you go home with the item whereas when you order online you have to wait for it to ship. The department stores offer much better quality and great sales, and so fun to shop!

Know what I like best about B&M stores? You can try on anything you want for free!! If you buy, there's no shipping and handling, If you don't it's not necessary to return it to the rack, and there's no return postage.
At QVC, you get it to your home dressing room for the cost of S&H, and you can try it on for $6.95 - the cost of returning if you don't "love" it!
DH has asked me many times why I have to pay $6.95 to try on something. He's right!

I won't go as far to say that the stores offer better quality. In fairness to QVC and their electronic competitors their quality is equal to many and better than some. Sure, there are a few retail stores which I would class as superior. However, those would be stores where plain white proprietary store brand tees are $50+. A few examples are: my present fave stores CUSP and Scoop; Barney's, Bloomingdale's, Neiman's to name a few.
For me personally, shopping elsewhere allows me the size I really need for the best fit; fantastic sale prices because most items end up with some kind of markdown (in many cases at least 50% -- if not more). Not trying on in the store, paying s&h and waiting for delivery are not issues which I factor into where I shop.

You are limited to just what they have on the racks and that just doesn't work for me anymore. I don't walk into a store and then browse and buy. I have a vision, I know what colors I want, I know what look I want for the sesson. So, mall shopping doesn't really work for me. I'm fortunate, I work hard and I don't mind spending my money, I shop within my price range but I don't look for bargains when I shop at the beginning of the season. I just want things I love. I shop on line because the world is at my finger tips.....not just what's available in the Missy department of one store.
I completely agree.

Why would you limit yourself to one store? That is the beauty of B&M shopping=many, many stores from which to choose!

They just built one closer to me, on the way to everything, so I go there weekly now and even signed up for the credit card. There was another one close by, but it was in the middle of no where, on the way to no where and I never thought about going.
They're 45 minutes from me too. I consider it "my lunch out". I get the only hamburger I ever have a chance for usually Wendy's , or tuna on sour bread at Atlanta Bread, and have lunch while I go.
They've also built up their online site.

Especially on Wednesdays...Get an item on sale then take an additional 25% off that then take an additional 10% off that. Grand total is pennies on the dollar. I've refreshed my entire Spring/Summer wardrobe the past few days! I NEVER buy any of my clothes unless I can feel, touch and try it on.
Is this on QVC?

Thank you for the clarification. From your original post, I mistakenly thought you meant you could only shop one department store.
