I finally got the message on why it is best to go to the storefronts for clothing, instead of purchasing from the shopping channels. It was one disappointment after another for me, with the high prices and cheap quality. But, with that said, these shopping channels are about hooking shoppers with host personalities. These forums have so many posts about the hosts. I can't relate to that. I'm not spending money with a retailer because of who is selling the merchandise to me.

I have access to many stores in my town, plus a big outlet center to boot. My problem--I hate to rummage through racks and I'm a hard fit...So unless it's right "out there", I probably won't even bother! This is why I've purchased clothing from Q & HSN at times..I can get tall sizes and I have had better luck! Sometimes seeing an item on a live TV model gives me an idea of whether it will fit..plus, at times I can find tall sizes (DG2, Women With Control)--hard to find in my local stores!

I no longer have the time nor the inclination to shop sales hoping they'll have something in my size and my color choice. The exceptions are a couple of small local shops. I don't like to shop in large department stores.

I know what you mean. I spend a small fortune on Isaac clothing, but Isaac fits me pretty consistently and I like it. Lately, I've been rediscovering B&M since the stores now have their spring/early summer inventory and it's lovely. They don't always fit me though, depending on the brand. It's a lot of fun to try on clothing though and so much easier to return. You don't have to make up your mind within 30 days if you're at Macy's and some others. It takes the pressure off, especially with shoes and handbags.

I know what you mean. I've gotten out of control with Isaac Mizrahi. I spend a small fortune on Isaac clothing, but it fits me pretty consistently and I like it. It takes the pressure off, especially with shoes and handbags (which sometimes takes me a while to decide). Macy's shoe department rocks.
I do love the quality of Isaac's clothing compared to some of the stores. I like to shop in Macy's - I love the atmosphere and there are quality items and good sales. I also like being able to try things on without someone hovering around me like in White House/Black Market (currently way too expensive for me, but I went through a phase). I also love to buy crop pants, bathing suits and colorful t-shirts in my Lands End which is huge and very nice and also has great sales.

you can't beat the deals at Macy's if you shop their great sales and use their coupons. I get great stuff there and love their petite section - and you won't have to worry about returning something because it doesn't fit. I never order clothing from the Q anymore - haven't in years - quality and price just aren't there - the only thing I order is jewelry - and that's rarer and rarer these days. I purchase most of it on Ebay for usually about 1/3rd of the price. You just have to be patient and selective. I recently bought the Bose TSV because I have wanted one for years and that price definitely couldn't be beat anywhere else- other than that, QVC no longer stands for Quality, Value, and not sure about Convenience - since it takes longer and longer to arrive.

Free shipping there too, and if there is a problem, they will make it right.B&M stores do provide great selection and sales! Off-price stores like Marshall's and TJ Maxx are other good options. And don't forget on-line fashion sellers! You can get great deals from all of the major department stores' online websites, as well as dozens/hundreds of other sellers like Land's End, Coldwater Creek, LL Bean, Draper's and Damon, Soft Surroundings, Zappo's, Zulily, Amazon, Overstock, and many others. Many with cheap/free shipping and frequent coupons and specials.

I have to tell you, this morning when I woke up way to early again, I thought about your post OP. Had to ask myself, if I went to the mall to shop, or other stores in the area, would I be buying? I may need to try that for awhile. Maybe it would help our local economy a bit more. Maybe I'd be choosier. I do love what I have purchased on line in the past. It's EASY. Maybe I need to throw an obstacle or two in my way, LOL.
