Re: I've never owned a denim jacket

I love denim jackets and will often pop one on as soon as it gets a bit chilly in the morning.

I must have around ten or so. None of mine are stiff because if they were I would never wear them.

I have a few Logo jackets, a couple from Chicos, Denim& co.and several in fall and spring colors from Kim Gravel. What I like about Kim's is that they are a colored denim in the front but the sleeves and back are dyed to match knit. It's such a cute and comfortable style.

However I get it...it's a style and look that some are not comfortable with.  For me that's wearing a dress or skirt of any kind.

Re: I've never owned a denim jacket

I own a few but more recently.  Last couple years and not stiff like the ones from years ago.  My favorite is one I purchased from the D & C Canyon Retreat line.  Lunchtime special and cheap. I have a couple Lori jean jackets and loves those as well.

I wear mine more in fall and winter but pulled out a few times this summer in the evening but lighter ones.

If you're going for warmth, skip it! I'm a jacket kind of gal. I rarely wear mine.

But on top of that, all denims are not equal! Just keep your packing slip in case you have to return.

Re: I've never owned a denim jacket

i probably have at least 10 denim jackets.  various lengths, colors, some embroidered.

most are Lauri Felt.  a couple of Liverpool.  one Joan Rivers - lightweight, longer length.  my old Wrangler and one old Levi.

just cant' get rid of the oldies !

love them, wear them as often as i can.  great topper over a dress.

Re: I've never owned a denim jacket

I have never purchased a denim jacket up until several years ago after I retired, I have purchased several and really don't wear them as much as I should, I forget I have them and wear something else.

Re: I've never owned a denim jacket

Around this time last year I picked up one that has three quarter sleeves.  I wasn't sure how much I wear it but I paid hardly nothing for it.  I wore it a lot as Fall became Winter and Winter became Spring.  I was kind of surprised.

Re: I've never owned a denim jacket

If it makes anyone feel better, I know some women who don't have any denim jackets (not now at least).

I think there's some nuance here that's missing. There are denim jackets that are "outfit makers" so those with fashiony details. AND there are denim jackets that are meant to be worn to keep warm in cool weather. The Venn diagram has some overlap.

When I worked in an office, I had several fashion denim jackets. Heavy enough to keep me warm under an aircon return, but with lots a cute details. And I had one or two meant for dog walking.

Now, not counting what's in storage, I have 3.

@Another new name Sue   I don't own a denim jacket and have no plans to do so. I DO have two victor Costa embellished jackets that I love and won't let go even if I rarely wear them.

I recently bought a stretchy denim jacket/shirt that is cropped (at Hallmark stores of all places) upon the urging of one of my daughters. It's lightweight and comfortable. A good purchase!

Re: I've never owned a denim jacket

I own one light wash denim jacket. I also own a tan, an olive, and a white denim style jacket but in a stretch twill fabric. Love my jackets as layering pieces all year long. Even in the summer I like to have one of my jackets or a cardigan for cold air conditioning. When I wear them in warmer weather I roll up the long sleeves twice and make a cuff.

Have a Great Day!
