I grew up in the land of farming and ranching, and the real old boys in that world wore denim jackets and work style boots (not those dude heeled bar-hopper things) and jeans until it got really really cold, then they switched to jeans and coveralls (not overalls--coveralls).
So to me, denim jackets are just what we wear, not a fashion statement. But it is nice to have colors now.
Edit: But I can still see those boys all hunched over standing around the cow pens with their hands in their pockets, freezing and not wanting to be the first to give in to admit they were cold and get the coveralls.

I was a teen in the 70's when I had my first denim jacket. I regard the denim jacket as a classic. Currently I have two and they are both oldies from QVC. A Susan Graver sort of anorak style, and my favorite since the first from the 70's that I can't see getting rid of is a Martha Stewart.

I've owned 2 or 3 in the past but never wore them much. I donated them years ago. My preference is some kind of knit like a zip up hoodie.

I have only one, I bought it at Disney World 25 year anniversary celebration-I love it and wear it often and get so many compliments on it!

I guess one reason I never got one is because I don't like the length of the most common style of denim jacket. I see some now that are a little longer down over the hips, but I've lost interest at this point!😀

I admit to having an addiction to denim jackets. Name the wash, color, length, style, print, embroidered, embellished, I got it. I wear them but not enough. They are great in spring and fall, too hot for the summer and in winter I prefer a cozy sweater. I made a promise to myself to never buy another and I'm sticking to it though I'm always tempted.

The funny thing is my hubby has one and he never wears it
Guess that 's why I no longer have one. "They are great in the Fall."
In Florida, we don't do Fall....It's scorching...then, Suddenly, it is cold!

I have more than a dozen denim jackets, almost all from Chicos. My favorite I bought 17 years ago and actually wore it out. I went on EBay under Chicos denim jacket and that where the 3 identical to my favorite jacket are from ( at 20% of price of original) and I've bought all my subsequent denim from EBay ( Chicos ladies are easy on their clothes).

@Another new name Sue wrote:I looked at the recent TSV and a couple other ones suggested on the TSV thread. I'm always tempted by them but have a little feeling I would never put it on. They seem so stiff, especially in the arms.
Get a well-worn (not really worn) trucker light wash off Amz b4 you invest in a very high priced one just to see if you like them.
