Re: I've never owned a denim jacket

I own several, but only ones with stretch in the fabric, some woven and some knit.  They are just as comfortable as any other jacket with built-in stretch.

Re: I've never owned a denim jacket

After I retired I started wearing denim jackets.

I  now have several that I've collected over the years - different styles in black, shades of blue denim (non-faded) and white.

A couple of the blue ones are embroidered.  One has various views of the NYC skyline embroidered on it.

About 4/5 years ago, one of my crochet mgazines had a pattern for a "vest" designed to wear over denim or leather jackets.  Sort of "boho" .... I made one for each of the non-embroidered jackets.

Re: I've never owned a denim jacket

@Another new name Sue.  In the new fabrics, often containing  some Rayon, denim is very soft.  I have at least 20+ denim jackets.  My climate on most winter days is mild so denim jackets are mostly what I wear for warmth.  I especially like the knit jackets that look like denim because they're soft, stretchy and quite warm.

Thankfully the days of stiff denim are over, in pants too.

Never had one until I became a retiree.  Now I have four.  Two in blue, one in a dark olive and a camel colored one with a dark brown leather collar.   But,  I really don't wear them much.

@Another new name Sue

I can echo @Kachina624 .  I have a whole collection of denim jackets, none of which are stiff.  Fabrics are different today, so "denim" is different from the stiff stuff jeans were made of years ago.  A few of mine are actually a knit fabric that looks like denim - one of the knits is from Coldwater Creek many years ago but it still looks and feels great.

I also live in a mild climate, so I can wear a denim jacket in every season except summer.  It's often the only outer layer I need.

Now whether a denim jacket suits your style is a whole other matter.  Only you can decide that.

I had a Levi's denim jacket in the 7th grade but none since then.

Re: I've never owned a denim jacket

@Another new name Sue  - Denim jackets today are different from those of yester-year.  Today's jackets are stretchy, comfortable, and not heavy.  The denim jackets from years ago were heavy denim and ultra stiff.
