I looked at the recent TSV and a couple other ones suggested on the TSV thread. I'm always tempted by them but have a little feeling I would never put it on. They seem so stiff, especially in the arms.

I am 72, and have never owned one either

You are not alone. I don't like wearing jeans (not comfortable and heavy) and have no desire for a denim jacket. I bought and returned one of the Logo denim jackets, it was super stretchy, but heavy. I much prefer cardigans or french terry.

I own lots of regular denim jackets and love them. Most are a lot more stretchy than what you think. I hope the TSV from yesterday turns out to be good. I ordered the green because I've never owned one in a color before. I liked a few items from the Me line. Normally, I'd never spend $70 for two tshirts, but I gave in. I appreciate the fact that some new styles and fits are being offered. Fingers crossed I'll like everything I bought.

I owned one years ago, never really wore it. I kept it in the back seat of my car in case I might need it. One day I noticed it was gone. I asked my daughter if she had seen it. She said yes that she took it to school and traded it for something else. I guess the kids did that a lot. She has two daughters of her own now and is having simiar problems with them. It wasn't a one time thing for my daughter. She seemed to think what was mine was also hers.

Responding to denim jacket comment- I have one from 20+ years ago. I rarely wear it-too hot in the warmer months and cold in the cooler months. Yes, presenters seem to have them available "ad Nauseum" however I rarely, if ever wear mine- I have lived with this jacket for a number of years in the closet. Don't want to get rid of it- it's Ralph Lauren after all. I now live in the moderate climes of N.C. and look at it in the closet every once in a while. Other outerwear has replaced it- winter vests, sweaters etc. Don't know where you live- good luck with your decision and the price that goes with it.

Denim jackets have come a long way...
I love denim jackets and have many, different styles, worn with different type outfits, mostly with skirts, over dresses in the fall, early spring, maybe with twill pants, shorts at times.
My first was the traditional Levi's back in the 70's...stiff dark denim, shaped like my boyfriend at that time's denim jacket, no stretch of course yet...not feminine at all in style. Boxy. But...I thought it looked cool then. Oversized, Boyfriend style, all-American Levi classic.
Fast forward and many denim styles and trends later I have a circa early 2000's Levi faded blue jacket, still no stretch, but more cropped and feminine.
Then along came much better denims and stretch.
I have to tell you, @Another new name Sue one of my favorites is a Tribal, midnight wash with a little soft fading in areas, soft, smooth, silky denim, and stretch. I put that on and it's like having on a cardigan sweater, especially in the sleeves. No tightness or stiffness at all, moves with me, feels great on...and I always get compliments and asked where I got it. Tribal was a very popular brand I got turned onto when I worked in a small boutique...we sold a ton of their denim jeans and this jacket, some skirts too.
So, whether or not a denim jacket fits your personal style is a whole other thing...but if it's comfort you worry about...look for one of the premium brands, (Tribal would be my fav, also Liverpool)...with the smooth denim, good styling and stretch. They are much more comfortable now.

Ive owned one but never wore it. If I'm cold, prefer sweaters or a real coat. Not useful in my life.
