I can't wear that shade of pink at all.  Some pinks are good - but not this one.  

I have our mother's complexion and father's hair .... fair with light hair.  My sister has our father's complexion and mother's hair ... medium complexion and dark hair.. this color looks great on her.

I bought a couple of turtlenecks in similar shades.  I have some pants and shoes from a few years ago in similar shades.  This is a good color for me.

I've had a love/hate relationship with brown.  Our high school uniforms were brown suits.  It took me many, many years before I wore brown again.  (Loved the school ... didn't love the uniforms.) 

Finally ... I just bought a bunch of brown shades of yarn to make a chunky oversized outerwear sweater.  Simple switch pattern and style - so I'm doing "my thing" with 50 shades of brown.

I'm fair with light hair and love this shade of pink on me.

I think it's more important what your skin undertone is, rather than whether you are a "fair" or "medium" complexion.
