While I think we all know Lisa didn't really design the items, for all intents and purposes Lisa was the GILI line. Personally I think the line should have gone away when Lisa did as it was associated with Lisa.
I have no inside information to this but the line seems to have lost it's luster without LR at the helm. How much does this line even sell? I see a piece or 2 sold here and there during other clothing shows but when is the last time there was a show dedicated to GILI items?

I agree with @Lipstickdiva in the sense that GILI was clearly Lisa's baby and she had a true passion for it. And when she was enthusiastic about something, she could really sell it.
I haven't bought anything from the line with or without Lisa but I don't seem to run across the programs any more. It does make business sense to me that the Q would have a higher end house brand.

I personally think it prudent on QVC's part to keep the G.I.L.I. line for the time being. Otherwise it could appear the Queen demanded more money, QVC said no and she turned on her heel departing taking "her" line with her. That could be perceived by the Tribe as Lisa having far more power than she did.

BTW, someone commented that it wasn't LR's line that she just sold it. Well, your correct about QVC owning the line but it was LR's personal style that was recreated for the line and LR was very much involved with the selection & the decision making.
@Danielle46Exactly! She never claimed to design the line! So while some of you are high fiving over the opportunity to slam LR you may want to base your disdain in some reality!
The original premise of the GILI line is identical to that of the Colleen Lopez line on HSN; affordable dupes of expensive clothing she owns. I suppose they probably didn't want to go with the contents of Jill's closet so now she's the creative director who's designing the pieces.
There is a clear difference in the line from one to the other because it's still based on the 'creative director's' preferences...I cant speak to the quality of either but aesthetically I preferred the LR version

@Andreatoo, more than once LR made a comment about how she designed something when it came to the GILI line. In fact, just recently on her FB page Lisa posted a photo of herself with a woman she saw in an airport. The woman was carrying a bag and Lisa asked her if it was a GILI bag. When the woman said yes, Lisa said "I designed that." Direct quote. In her biography on her FB page, she also states that she introduced "her line" of fashions, shoes, handbags, etc.
I get what the premise of the line was which is why IMO it doesn't make sense to keep it after Lisa left just like it wouldn't make sense to me for HSN to keep "Colleen's line" if she would leave.

I have never bought one GILI item. Just not my thing, I guess. I don't particularly care for Jill. I don't watch GILI enough to comment on how the line has changed.

@Andreatoo, I beg to differ with you. More than once LR made a comment about how she designed something when it came to the GILI line. I've heard Lisa's line, "I designed that" several times in reference to the GILI line. But sorry, I do not believe it, not literally anyway. I can have a pretty leather jacket, and want to copy it. I'll ask an expert to add zippers on the sleeves and a wider collar. For me to go around and say I designed that jacket is stretching it far & wide. I believe that is what Lisa did. "Design" should mean going to design school, sketching the pattern, knowing all the particular specifics to have it made. Amy Kestenberg is a designer. Louis Dell'Olio is a designer.
I stopped trusting Lisa's design boasts when she had that skirt that she called scuba material. I asked her on FB at the time why is it called scuba. She replied, "I just invented that term." The very next day I saw scuba dresses, scuba skirts, etc. from luxury brands (including Vince), and others like Bob Mackie and George Simonton after I did a google search.

I never heard it presented that way; but regardless of how LR may have qualified her involvement I think we can agree the line's intent was to mimic LR's wardrobe.
Colleen apparently doesn't own every single original piece either but is influencing what's presented (bottom line)
Jill's supposed involvement is different.

What you're describing as 'designer' accounts for about 10% of what the stores and shopping channels are hawking! lol
I used to avoid the pseudo designers but now I just don't care..but I aint paying their full price on anything!!! lol
