I've put back several things when I see it has an exposed zipper.

Bri, you took the words right out of my mouth.  I'll add that it doesn't matter how many high end designers use them, or whether or not fashion editors and trend forecasters embrace the look, I refuse to wear a dress with an exposed zipper because someone tells me it's trendy.  This old lady has seen enough fashion to march her own beat and never look out of style doing so.

@bri20

I usually feel the same way about exposed zippers. However, I bought a beautiful ivory dress with gold hardware at the waist that had an exposed gold zipper on the back. In this case the zipper seemed to work with the dress.

I'm sure I am in the minority when I say that this dress misses, completely for me. Too many trends in one garment; cut-outs, color blocking, and the exposed zipper make it a definite no, my opinion only. My apologies to anyone who likes it.

Split back reminds me of ribs, which reminds me of baby back, which reminds me of baby got back...

That's why... in case you have a full "rack of baby back."  Cat Tongue

I agree that the zipper is a no-go. But so is the color combo. It reminds me of Pepto Bismol, lol. Sky blue paired with cornflower blue would be nice, IMO... or mint green with teal.

I AGREE.

Often, and generally in more casual wear, the exposed zipper is a cool embellishment, i.e., pants, jackets, etc.

In this instance it completely ruins the special occassion/formal look of the garment.

There's edgy and then there's just NO! You're overreaching!

Ditto for the plaid shoes- I liked them UNTIL I saw the metallic heel.

Who is the designer sometimes the zippers are a focus point of the garment is this zipper made to stand out is it like jewelry too many questions to consider without seeing the actual dress in person what is the cost of the dress I like it makes it unique
