The lure of Dubai is that the rich are there. Terribly expensive stores, posh hotels, etc. I was quite surprised to hear that Lisa was going to Dubai and then saw some of the pictures of her trip. To each her own, of course, but I was very happy to leave. It's an interesting city with a large cultural mix and great restaurants for those who can afford it. The city caters to anyone with money. I was there one day on a cruise. I can't imagine actually paying to stay in one of those beautiful hotels that cost a fortune unless it was an hour's flight from me and of couse I wouldn't do it anyhow. A long, long flight to a fake city? Not for me.
