I don't like the fabric Modal.

I recieved my first piece of modal clothing today and I do not like the fabric at all. I ordered 2 of the Isaac M. peplum tops with short bell sleeves that are made out of cotton modal and spandex. The fit is terrible. I ordered my regular size and it is too tight on the bust and loose as hell on the hips. It fits very strangely. The modal material is really thin and shows every lump and bump. I am a size XXS and I don't have too many lumps, but I did when I tried on those tops. I could not send them back fast enough.

Now that I know that I don't like the thinness and lack of structure of modal I will never order anything with it again. I guess that means I can never order anything from Belle fashions because all of Kim's tops seem to be made from modal.

I agree ! I got a top from Denim and Co, in regular size and not again !

Turn sideways you see your bra fat under the armpit.

Fit is clingy and sticks to you like a second skin. I kept it, but, just wear

a jacket over it. I can't wear thin fabrics.

They should outlaw that modal stuff.

Although I have not ordered anything from either Isaac or Kim Gravel, I did purchase two T-shirt style garments made of cotton modal, from a B&M store.  It is shockingly paper-thin material, and for lack of a better term, "cheap-looking."  This fabric is certainly not, as Kim Gravel says, "money, money, money" - just the opposite.

I bought an item made from Modal and it clung to every lump and bump.  This was at least 10 years ago and didn't have the same body like I do now(ugh)so I wore it. Now you will never see me purchase any clothing with this fabric again.

@Squirrel Lover@SharkE@alliswell

Bought a Halston long sleeve v-neck top-XS-a couple of years ago. Fabric was modal with about 2% spandex. Loved the saturated dark green color. However it showed all the lumps and bumps. I only wear it with a cardigan or jacket.

Never again modal

I never buy modal. Wasn't surprised reading the OP's experience.

Not a fan of modal fabric either, which I also found to be very thin.

I prefer things made with cotton.

As with so many polys, spandex, etc, it  can also be hot. Especially bad, if already getting hot flashesWoman Frustrated

I was given a set of modal sheets as a gift, and they are so "rubbery" and clingy that I can't imagine wearing that fabric.

Re: I don't like the fabric Modal.

Modal is a luxurious, superior fabric.  It is NOT intended to be blended with spandex.  A true modal garment is as  high end as it gets.  It's sheerness is the beauty of it.
