I Received My Joy & IMAN Handbag

Ordered two-cognac & cream latte. The cream arrived today. Immediate concern. Carton was buckling. They used a carton too small for the item. Instead of the handbag being packed on it's side, it was upright. To seal the carton, they had to push down on the top of the handbag. There are noticeable creases and wrinkles in the leather on the back and bottom. It could be mfg or from shipping. I think the light color may emphasize it more than had it been a deeper or more saturated color. The shape, size, and interior is very nice. I like the profile. Leather is ok. I hope the cognac arrives in better condition. One more thing: I called CS about the packing issue and to ask about the 10 dollar coupon for IMAN purchase. There was nothing in my shipment. CS gave me a code. Each order should have a card with a unique code for 10 dollars off any IMAN purchase from May 15-31. If your order does not include the coupon card, call CS for your code. Look forward to reading other reviews!

I came so close to buying that bag, but I talked myself out of it since I'm still paying for the Dooney Chevron tote I bought in February, LOL. I may wait awhile and pick it up once it goes on clearance.

I hope you like it. I loved the organizational aspect of all the pockets.

It's still in decent enough shape that you're keeping it? Can you get out the creases with a hair dryer or in the sun if there is any where you are?

Re: I Received My Joy & IMAN Handbag

The only thing I ever ordered from Iman (before Joy was involved), was a carry on sized bag. The quality was extremely poor (uneven color, cheap materials, flimsy seams) and even though they said it could also serve as a checked bag, I knew if checked that bag would fall apart after one trip. Needless to say I sent it back.

I want to see the cognac handbag for comparison. I don't think it is so bad to warrant an immediate return. It's more subtle and I doubt that anyone would see it and think it as a problem. I too was wondering if I could do something to smooth it out. Hairdryer or heat? Thanks for the suggestion. I will post my review of the cognac when it arrives.

For 70 dollars you cannot expect to have the highest quality of leather. However, I still expect it to look good and be functional. I don't see any of the issues you had with uneven color or flimsy seams. That all meets a good quality level. It's just the wrinkling and creases.

Glad to hear overall quality has improved. It is hard to get wrinkles & creases out of leather though although it is doable if they aren't "set in".

My black one arrived today. It is really a beauty for the price. LOVE the organization, the silhouette, the zipper, etc. It is a KEEPER!

Re: I Received My Joy & IMAN Handbag

I bought the bag in purple. It just arrived today and is going back tomorrow. The bag handles are too short to permit wearing it over my shoulder. The long strap which can be attached is not attractive or comfortable. If it had been designed with longer handles, I might have kept it. Although the leather is stiff, the purple color is pretty.

Not a fan of Joy's designs so did not order this bag but I am interested in what others think since Iman is involved.
