And her simple pulled back hairdo is lovely too so that you can appreciate the whole dress. On SYTTD often they try on the dresses with their hair hanging down over the front of their shoulders so you have no clue what the top and shoulder area of the dress looks like.

From watching umpteen episodes of "Say Yes to the Dress" over the years, I'd put it at maybe $20K because I think all the gorgeous materials are imported and all the applique work and design features are done by skilled artisan dressmakers.

Anyone knowing more details about pricing the dress is welcome to agree or disagree with my estimate!

You are probably right and my grandmother would have bought the material and made it for $100 more/less when I was in high school.  She made me and my sisters some exquisite dresses that nothing compares to except this dress that I have seen in recent years, of silks, organzas, tulle, taffetas, satins, laces and designed the flowers and sewed them from self-fabric.

There are lots of web sites that sell "copies" of wedding dresses. They use inferior materials and workmanship. From everything I have read, women who buy them open up the box and are very disappointed/horrified.
