Talbots has a great petite department either in their stores, online and catalog.

Lots of choices.

My problem with Talbot's is that I no longer find clothing there that I like.  For the last 10 years, the store has changed considerably.  It used to be very classic and now it just seems far different.  There must be a lot of people who like their clothing but after buying there for many years, I no longer do.  I much prefer Ann Taylor or JCrew.

At 5'2" and a size 14, I have for a while considered myself to be what is these days the average American woman.

Here is my 5'9" self thinking how lucky the short people are because at least you can have things shortened.  I can't have pre-made things made longer.

Actually, you're right.  I learned how to hem my pants when I was 13, and if I can't find a petite length in pants I like, I buy them anyway and hem them myself.  Takes 10 minutes.

Same here.  I do best with at least a 32 inch inseam and they're tough to find.

@september

So did I, but now that I have visual dysacuity due to MS, I can't do close needlework.

@Nonametoday sorry about that.  I also do these hemming jobs for family and friends, because I have every color thread and am fast and good at it.  Wish I could help you out!

@cheriere   -  I also have a 32" inseam.  I think I am adamant about my pants being long enough because they never were when I was growing up.  I have six sisters and I was the tallest one and the last one.  I got all the hand me downs.  I didn't mind the hand me downs but I minded the pants were never long enough.
