How to protect tassels in the laundry

I've bought a couple tops without thinking about the sewn on tassels.  Dry cleaning is out of the question.

i usually dry clean tassel items, but the mesh bag idea is a good one.

i just hate when tassels unravel, especially the very skinny ones.

Personally - I'd just hand wash anything I was "iffy" about putting in the washing machine.

I haven’t tried this but I’m wondering if (in addition to using the laundry bag) you also wrapped a rubber band around the tassel to keep it from unraveling.

How about if you slit a straw or a piece of a straw, laid the tassel in it and tapped it tight, then the mesh bag wash.   Just a thought...

I put a safety pin in the top of the tassel and pin it to the top, then wash in a mesh bag.

Ok, here is what Sam Saboura, the One World vendor, says to do with tassels - take a small piece of aluminum foil and wrap around the tassel, then just put the garment in the wash and dry as your normally would.
