It is a tricky cut or fabric?  I wear a lot of open front dusters, shawls, capes, wraps, and cardigans and I am not familiar with this problem.

Could you provide more details?

I wonder if it has to do with your body type. I am really small busted and I can’t imagine anything falling off of me LOL. When I see larger busted models wearing these, the look is totally different and they have to keep pulling them over.

You may be on to something.

It may be the wearer and not the article of clothing.

I am also smaller busted and everything stays put, no pins or magnets needed.

I can throw on a wrap and forget about it.  LOVE them!

Double sided Hollywood fashion tape, it works wonders

I do not like "open front" tops. They look decidedly untidy.

Mememe made a good observation. Open fronts can work with smaller frames.

@insomniac2  are you calling me untidy 😉?
Just kidding, thankfully there are enough styles for everyone. Most of my sweaters and vests are “open front”. I love the look.

I've seen an open cardi closed by a cute decorative pin.  I think it can look very nice.

I LOVE thrift shop buys for this very problem/solution....I have a collection of brooches that look great & keep my open front sweathers/dusters closed at the "empire" waist area and it looks great too.

Back in the "old days" of sweater sets - you could buy sweater chains.

If you check Amazon - there are lots and lots of "vintage" style sweater chains and clips for sale - very reasonable prices.

I knit and crochet "Chanel" type jackets and use them to keep them closed at the neckline.
