How to get out static of the recent TSV?

The most recent TSV, item A261263, seems to have a lot of static. Any thoughts on how to control this? It seems to be a problem given the bad reviews but I'm wondering if I can fix it before I decide to return. Thanks!

Have you tried any of the anti-static sprays that you can buy at grocery store, Target, etc? A little fabric softener in the rinse water works for me, but you mentioned returning the item so you might not want to wash it.

Re: How to get out static of the recent TSV?

I have that problem with many SG tops bc of the fabric. Since you like the top.....

You will eventually wash it when you own it, so I would start there within your 30-day return period. Why? Because what good IS that item if you like it, keep it, wear it, wash it, and then say it shrinks, or loses color, or the static is out of control so you CAN'T wear it after your 30 days? If you don't like it, obviously don't wash it, just return it. But.....

If you like the item, it fits well, and your only problem is the static... wash it, use fabric softener in the wash or dryer but don't dry it all the way... only for a little bit to get the wrinkles out... then hang for the rest of the drying period. THAT has always worked for me for my static-y tops.

When I have some residual static, I spray Static Guard on the inside of it at least a day before wearing it, or you will smell like that product. The Static Guard scent does dissipate after a day, and after washing it's only a little spritz here or there. Others rub their fabric softener sheets on the inside and that works well too.

There is nothing worse than thinking the problem will get better, then it doesn't, but then you can't return it anymore bc too much time has elapsed. Susan needs to address this problem since the reviews coming in about static are far too many, or she needs to tell us all how to resolve this problem!

Hope this helps. It's such a pretty top and you should be able to rectify this problem.

Re: How to get out static of the recent TSV?

Thanks ladies for your help, appreciate you both taking time to give me some advice. I normally would never wash anything and then return it but this may be the exception if nothing helps this crazy static. I'll try the dryer sheet and static guard (though I hate the smell) first and see how it goes. The reviews on this top are terrible (SG should really be embarrassed as she called this the best TSV she's EVER done) but it does look great with a specific pair of pants that I've never worn due to not having the right top. So maybe its worth a shot to be able to wear the pants -- or maybe both items will end up at Goodwill. Time will tell!

Static Guard worked for me...It's a cute top once you get the static under control...You could also try air fluffing it with a dryer sheet...
