How does the Talbots low price guarantee work?

I bought something from Talbots last night and it was marked down to 40% off the sale price of $159. Now it’s about $15 cheaper because it was marked down to 40% off and then additional 15% off. The price on the Internet still shows a price of $159, which is marked down already, but then you take the 40% off and then the 15% off. They have some sort of promise If an item goes on sale, you can get the reduced price within 14 days of purchase, or something. Does anybody know how to easily get in contact with Talbots customer service and if this situation would apply, or if they would say that it didn’t apply because the price of the item didn’t go down just the promotion?

I've done this over the years and it's always worked well. Sometimes I do it through Live Chat and other times with a CSR over the phone. I buy most of my clothing from Talbots, much of it online. I rarely pay full price because Talbots starts reducing their prices within a few weeks of offering items as New Arrivals. Then, they add new reductions, sometimes a couple of days later. I just bought something this morning getting the double reduction you mentioned. You shouldn't have any problem getting them to apply the additional reduction to the item you bought yesterday.

PS: Some clearance items now have an additional 20% off beyond the 40% and 15%. These are final sales, though, so you need to know how well a clearance item will fit.
