I have a black cashmere fringe wrap that I sometimes wear. Here I am at a niece's wedding. Sorry for the back drop.

many years ago I bought three shawls from the Q....they had fringe....when I took them to the cleaners the fringe got all knotted up and was a mess...

not sure if it was sloppy work from the cleaners...or just the nature of the beast...he apologized for what happened....but didn't offer to repay me....

I called the Q....and explained what happened...and they refunded me for all three of them...I thought that was super nice as I would never be able to wear them again in the condition they were in...unless I cut off all the fringe...which I don't think they would have looked too good..

forgot to add...I have never bought anything with fringe since then....

On a cape, yes. You have to do something interesting with that big edge. Handbags, coats, boots, and other things will be dated quickly. Too "costumey".

I'm not a big fan of it, though I do like the jacket shown with very short fringe. Otherwise, none of these fringed items floats my boat at all.
