Long ago some kind poster gave us this URL.  It's probably the best household hint I've ever received.  I don't have drawer or shelf space for all the stretchy knits I own.  The recent Lisa Rinna and Logo TSVs come to mind.  Now I'm able to buy more because of this hint...they don't wrinkle or get stretched out and I can see what I've got.

Enjoy using this!

Re: How To Hang Knits

I think I saw Jayne Brown demonstrate this once.   Do you think this method would bulk up your closet?

There are times when you must speak, not because you are going to change the opposing side, but because if you do not speak, they have changed you.

I use all huggable hangers and don't have a problem with "bulk".  When your knits are in place, they're very high up on the hangers, higher than other clothing.

What an awesome tip!  I printed it out (because my brain would never remember this) and am going to display it in my closet.  I have tried rolling up some of these knits like the designer and hosts recommend, and have ended up with a wrinkled mess.  Hanging them does tend to stretch them.  I can't wait to try this!  Thank you so much for sharing.

Kachina--Do you do this with just sweaters or also with rayon/spandex tops, liquid knits ,etc also?

I've been hanging my knits this way for years.  I'm pretty sure Kathy Levine showed us how to do this many years ago.

I don't do it with liquid knits because they don't seem to stretch but I do use it for anything that feels like it would stretch with hanging.

Thanks for posting this.  I don't have the space to put all of my sweaters in drawers, and if they're on shelves they end up covered with a cat.  Hanging is the best option for me.
