On her wedding day last weekend. She got such a bargain on the dress too and did all the alterations herself. She's going to wear it for a year.

While it's her dress and she can do whatever she wants, I think it's a complete waste.  There are organizations that will gladly accept wedding gowns.  Many brides would love a gown and cannot afford one.

There are organization that take gowns and use the material for Communion dresses and even burial gowns for infants. It was only after I read about these organizations that I thought to use the train on my wedding gown to make a dress for our 1 year old granddaughter to be buried in.

@lulu1  My SIL used her wedding gown to make a Baptismal dress for her baby. The baby only lived a few minutes ,so she buried him in it

It brought her a great deal of comfort, to know her child had something of her ,to be buried in. It is such a painful thing to lose a baby, I am so sorry  this happened to your family

After the year maybe she will donate it. She did buy it in a charity shop in England, she lives there.

I like that she is enjoying her dress for more than one day.

I don't really understand posts that seem to imply that she is somehow being selfish for not donating it or repurposing it.

I'm reminded of what I frequently hear on QVC ... no matter what article of clothing  they are selling ...

This is a JOKE.    Do you know how much it costs to dry clean a wedding dress?    That definitely would NOT be "getting your money's worth"....
