Don't forget about the building, heat, air, upkeep and janitorial services, supplies, living wages and benefits for workers, and shareholder profit for the money they invested to start the ball rolling.
I know there is quite a bit of markup, but coming from a family that had one of the largest stores in town, I know both sides.

@SeaMaiden Thanks for the breakdown! I knew this was coming, and I stocked up. But, this will hit parents so hard, because kids grow FAST. di

We need to DUMP China - and increase manufacturing jobs in the U.S. or buy from other countries. Most of the products China sells us are contaminated, toxic and deadly, ie. wallboards put into homes, dog-food, several years ago dogs were dying, toxic toothpaste, etc. In the last 3 years, I've purchased 7 electric coffee percolators - which each lasted 3 to 8 months.

@kivah. We need to do some dumping but it's not China.

I think this is a discussion for a political forum. We all have our feelings on it and I think there could be some heated discussions over this. This might be a discussion befitting Community Chat.

Maybe stay away from the coffee percolators. many other ways to make coffee, these work pretty good:
